Can't adjust the tonearm height anymore?
Most likely the grease got old, dry and too sticky to allow any height adjustments.
In such a case it is necessary to deep clean the tonearm base block, remove all of the grease and put newer on it again.
Our service procedure
- Dismantle the whole tone arm unit (including the base)
- Desolder tonearm wires from PCB and remove the whole tonearm
- Disassemble the base into its main components and unblock the base using grease solvents
- Remove old grease by scraping and cotton cleaning (isopropyl)
- Use ultra sonic cleaner bath for deep clean
- Grease all threads with a special grease for Technics tonearm base threadings
- Reassemble everything
