Pitch Extension Mod (±20%) for Technics 1210 and 1200

Product information "Pitch Extension Mod (±20%) for Technics 1210 and 1200"

The PitchMod allows you to extend the pitch range of your Technics turntable by offsetting its range in the three modes:

  1. slow -20% ... -8%
  2. default -8% ... +8%
  3. fast +8% ... +20%
This mod does not behave like the newer Technics models (e.g. MK7) which scale the given range. Instead it remains the same precision just like with a normal ±8% range and just moves the range without scaling.

Exclusive Product Quality

Since quality is our highest priority we engineered our own product series for this mod and manufactured Modnics PCBs for this mod. This allows us to place the crystals at fixed positions and have a constant quality with less proneness for errors.

Switch Position

As seen in the product images we usually place our switch on top of the pitch fader. We at Modnics are DJs as well and found this to be the most convenient position for a switch that is not in the way of the tone arm radius. However, regardless of our preference you can always ask for alternative positions (e.g. single puck, left side of pitch fader). We are always open for your ideas.

How does this work?

The direct drive motor works with a certain base frequency. Modifying this frequency with other fixed values, allows us to offset our pitch range without scaling (like in ±16%/±32%). Instead we switch between certain ranges (as listed above) and have the possibility to keep the same precision just as with ±8%.

Pitch Quartz Lock / Center Click Removal
Newer Technics models don't have them anymore. However, the stock MK2s have a center click position. In the first place this has no technical harm, it is just a matter of style and preference. But a lot of people prefer not having a click in the center to have a smoother transition during beat matching. If your problem is, that your pitch jumps as soon as you are in the center, the problem is that your pitch needs to be calibrated.
